IZVG Pathology was set up in 2003 in response to the need for a dedicated zoo and wildlife pathology service. We provide a specialised anatomic pathology service (post mortem examinations and histopathology) in exotic species including fish. For more information about IZVG, click here.

Our pathologists, Drs Mark Stidworthy and Daniela Denk, work closely with IZVG's team of experienced clinicians, supported by our research and consultancy operation, focusing on diagnosing disease in exotic species. For more information about IZVG's staff, click here.

We provide comprehensive anatomic pathology services for exotic species including:

  • Histopathology
  • Cytology
  • Gross post mortem examinations
  • Microbiology
  • Parasitology
  • Referral virology, immunohistochemistry and molecular analysis where appropriate.

Our focus is anatomic pathology, with suitable supporting diagnostics to enable comprehensive diagnosis. We have a good working relationship with NationWide Laboratories, Leeds and can refer haematology and biochemistry as required to ensure good clinicopathological correlation across all species groups.

We are happy to advise on appropriate submission for microbiological and molecular testing and can assist with packaging.
